I graduated from Northeastern Illinois University in 1994 where I received a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education (certified to teach K-9). My first teaching position was the 1994-1995 school year in Buffalo Grove...teaching 7th grade science. Then during the 1995-1996 school year I taught in the inner city (what a challenging experience that was indeed). I began teaching at River Trails M.S. in the fall 1996 as a 7th grade science and math teacher. The principal at the time convinced me to try my "hand" at teaching all math, therefore I took on the challenge and received a Masters in Math Education from National Louis University in 2000. In 2004, I decided to further my studies in education therefore, I pursued a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Olivet Nazerene University (through a cohort/on-line program) and completed it in the Spring of 2006. Since then I have taken several on-line classes to keep up to date with the many changes in education.

I enjoy reading and spending time with my family (especially my niece who is a freshman at Prospect H.S. and my nephew in 5th grade) and friends. I also enjoy walking and working out on my treadmill at home when time permits during my spare time. Recently I have begun "dabbling" with baking (to new to share any creations yet lol).

The textbook and curriculum taught in 7th grade is directly aligned to the Common Core State Standards. I have included a link to the textbook on my access enter the same username and password+rt26 as your child's "school log-in."

Please be sure to check Power School often in order to monitor your child's progress in math (as well as other classes). If you should ever have any questions and/or concerns about your child's grade (or any other concerns) please feel free to contact me via an email or voice message (a link to Power School may be found on the school website "homepage"). Daily homework assignments are posted nightly on the "Homework Hub" located on the school website homepage.
