National Junior Honor Society

Mrs. Jean Minor and Ms. Beth Lasoski

7th graders interested in becoming members of National Junior Honor Society next year should begin working on their applications at this time. If you have questions, please see Mrs. Minor or Ms. Lasoski as soon as possible. Applications are due on April 6th.

The MPPL is starting a new youth volunteering group. This would be a good way to get in your individual hours. They
are looking for teens in 7th grade-12th grade to help with their program Let’s Be Friends, which pairs teens with children (with and without special needs) who are looking for social opportunities. Each program will have fun activities around a theme like games or building. Teens help children complete the activities and hang out with kids, helping them to socialize.  To participate, teens need to attend a volunteer orientation on Wednesday, February 28 from 4:30-6:30. They also need to be able to attend the three programs for kids on March 7, 14, and 21 from 4:30-5:30. We will serve dinner at the orientation.  Applications for the program are at the Youth Desk of the Library and online here:
