Orchestra - Mrs. Forman

Ms. Forman

Ann Forman

I am the Orchestra Teacher for all of River Trails School District #26. Orchestra instruction begins in the 4th grade and continues through 8th grade.

I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Instrumental and Vocal Music Education from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota in 1977. I completed my Masters Degree in Music Education from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois in 1996.

I began my career teaching elementary orchestra in the Cedar Falls, Iowa Community Schools for six years. I was born and raised in Waterloo, Iowa, so it was great to be able to "go home" and teach in my hometown area. I also played viola in the Waterloo/Cedar Falls Symphony, beginning a lifetime of playing with community and church instrumental groups.

I guess you could say I "saw the light" and moved to Illinois in 1984 to begin teaching orchestra at River Trails School District #26. I am very pleased to be in my 34th year here at River Trails. I love teaching music and love teaching children, so this has been the perfect career for me!
