Seventh Grade Mathematics

Welcome to 7th grade math!

The 2017-2018 school year marks my 13th year at River Trails Middle School and my 15th year as a middle school teacher.  I have experience teaching seventh grade math, eighth grade math, and eighth grade English language arts.

I grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago and after graduating from Homewood-Flossmoor High School, I attended Bradley University where I earned my B.S. in Elementary Education.  I completed my graduate degree in Educational Leadership from Concordia University in 2005.  Since then, I have continued to take online, self-paced courses that keep me up-to-date on educational trends and research and allow me the opportunity to bring new ideas to my classroom each and every year.

I have an incredibly supportive husband, two amazing daughters that keep me on my toes and make me laugh everyday.  In my spare time, I enjoy yoga, reading, and going for family bike rides!

The seventh grade math curriculum is fully aligned to the Common Core State Standards.  We will focus on learning problem solving strategies, applying math in real-world situations, and mastering the computation rules for all rational numbers (integers, fractions, and decimals).
